Simone Maurell (Siemon) Warren died peacefully in her sleep May 5, 2011 at her home. Simone was born on February 24, 1950 at Walter Reed Hospital in Washington, DC. She was longtime resident of Williamsburg, Virginia. She earned her art degree at Cornell University and received her Masters of Art History at the University of Georgia. After college she taught art and art history at the University of Michigan. She later taught art and art history at Thomas Nelson Community College. She was a renown artist who had numerous awards for gallery showings of her work.

She is survived by her mother, Maurell Siemon; her brothers, Charles Siemon and Augustus (Bud) Siemon; her daughter, Rachel Bicknell; her son, Charles Warren, and her former husband, Herbert Warren. She was preceded in death by her father, Augustus (Gus) Siemon.

Visitation will be at the Nelsen Funeral Home, 3785 Strawberry Plains Rd, Williamsburg from 6-8 PM on Sunday, May 8. Services will be held at 10 AM Monday, May 9, in the Nelsen Funeral Home Chapel, with interment to follow at Williamsburg Memorial Park.
