Mrs. Mae Shaver

Shaver, Mae, of Danville, Va., and formerly of Midlothian, Va., died Wednesday, August 15, 2012 at Piney Forest Health and Rehabilitation Center, just six days short of her 91st birthday. "Grandma," as she was called, was born August 21, 1921 in Floyd County, Virginia. She was a member of Pioneer Baptist Church, Richmond, Va. She married Jerry D. Shaver on September 8, 1941. They were married for 67 years prior to his death in 2008. She is survived by her son, Jerry L. Shaver and wife, Barbara of Danville; one grandson, Jerry E. Shaver and wife Heather of Pittsburg, Calif.; one granddaughter, Jennifer Clatterbuck, her husband, Tracey; and three great- grandchildren, Kate, Luke and Emily Clatterbuck all of Danville. She is also survived by a number of nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her parents, one sister; and one son, Ray Edward Shaver. Visitation will be held at 2 p.m. followed by a funeral service at 3 p.m. Sunday, August 19, 2012 at Nelsen Funeral Home, 4650 S. Laburnum Ave. Richmond, Va.
