Halterman, Frankie Lee, 89, of Newport News, formerly of Richmond, passed away on May 1, 2012. She was preceded in death by her husband, Douglas L. Halterman; sons, Joseph B. Smith and Douglas L. "Jake" Halterman. She enjoyed her newlywed years with Douglas as a Navy wife in Florida. A homemaker, she took pleasure in reading, watching movies and making baby dolls. A beautiful blue-eyed fun spirit she was. Frankie so loved being "Mamaw" to her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Frankie Lee is survived by her son, Scott Halterman; daughter, Rita Halterman; sisters, Alpha Mae and Gloria; grandchildren and special nieces, nephews and friends. A Memorial Service will be held at Nelsen Funeral Home, 4650 S. Laburnum Avenue, Richmond, VA, 23231 on Friday, May 4 at 11 AM.
