Barbara Meadows passed away on May 28, 2012 after a brief fight with cancer. She was 63.

Mrs. Meadows was born to C. Emery and Elizabeth (Deroo) Knight in Winchester MA, the second of three daughters. She grew up in Winchester, and had many fond memories of her time there, of her friends from her neighborhood and the youth group at Crawford Memorial Church. She graduated from Winchester High School in 1967 and from there went on to Arlington Technical School where she met her husband, Joseph Meadows. They were married in 1970.

Barbara's greatest accomplishment was raising her children. She was proud of the fact that they grew up to be friends and people that she enjoyed spending time with. She loved working with children, whether as a Girl Scout leader, homeroom mother, lunchroom cashier (18 years as at Schenectady Christian School in Scotia NY), or teacher's aide at Providence Classical School in Williamsburg.

While in New York she was a member of Clifton Park Community Church; after moving to Williamsburg, she was a member of Grace Covenant Church. She was also a member of a small group home Bible study at Grace Covenant Church and a number of groups within Ford's Colony including Wine and Dine, Ladies' Lunch and Book Club.

She is survived by her husband of 42 years, Joseph; her three children, Sandra, Jennifer, and Michael; her daughter-in-law, Erin; her mother, Elizabeth Knight; her sisters, Linda Reppucci and Judy (Joe) Massakowski; as well as a number of sisters- and brothers-in-law, nieces and nephews, and a number of dear friends including Terry Frazer and her family (Nicole, Hannah, Molly and Ryan, and Heidi). She was predeceased by her father, C. Emery Knight.

The funeral will be held at Grace Covenant Church, 1677 Jamestown Rd, Williamsburg on Thursday, May 31 at 10 AM followed by a graveside service. There will be no calling hours. In lieu of flowers please send donations to Providence Classical School, 6000 Easter Circle, Williamsburg VA 23188. Online condolences may be expressed at www.nelsencares.com.
